Beautiful Ireland
The Black Valley is a welcome respite from the busy throngs of tourists found in Killarneys more busy and visited locations. You’re unlikely to run into another soul, which suits me just fine. Beware the tiny single lane roads and the bumpy surface. Not for everyone for sure. Hence the peace and quiet. I’d be lying if I described the day in question as misty. I think I was just living in a cloud. Constant and persistent rain but not a breath of wind. Pure magic ..
The light was amazing and the rock structures out Dingle way provide such dramatic foregrounds. Great fun shooting this scene with Nick Page.

Sometimes it’s the simple things in life. A wee tree on a wee river in Connemara. f10 20 secs Kase 10 stop and polariser.
Sometimes you just need to ignore the big view. The sky was awash with amazing colours and the reflections were all around but I was singularly focused on these gentle reads and the reflecting pastels.Nikon d850, 70 – 200 No Filters, f10 at .8 seconds
Waves roll in on the BallinSkellig coast in the west of Ireland. Amazing to see the azure Atlantic with the dramatic backdrop on the Skelligs. We were treated to some great light for good measure.Nikon d850, 200 – 500, f 9 at 1/1000
A moment of beautiful calm as the clouds cleared at sunset in Doo Lough. I loved the wee pocket of light and how it interacted with the tress. A stunning location. d850 , 14mm, f11 1/60 Lee Filters .9 Soft
Out on the Killarney Lakes, Co Kerry long before the fishermen landed to enjoy this perfect morning. I love how the calm gives such a great opportunity for simple pastel images. The reflection didn’t break for hours but eventually, the call for Irish Breakfast was too strong. Nikon d800e, 24 – 70, Lee .9 Soft Grad
I’ve always loved this beaten up old tree at Doo Lough, near Connemara. We were fortunate that it was actually surrounded by water after some really heavy rain. A nice wee reflection and some great light was just the ticket.Nikon d850, 14 – 24, .9 soft Lee Grad
