2024 Part 1 – The Early Day’s

Welcome to Part 1 of our 2024 round-up. First up is a massive shout-out and thank you to all the amazing folks who came with us to a wide range of destinations in 2024. From days out in Dublin Bay, to epic adventures in Namibia, we appreciate your participation in the ExploreLight adventure. I hope you are all having a relaxing Christmas break as you read these words. The office is closed for now, but we will be open again on January 6th and our new 2026 dates will also release that week. WATCH THIS SPACE!

For now, cast your mind back to early 2024. The images below cover four different workshops: two in Lofoten (one with me and Dino/one with Daragh), one in Senja, and a fantastic trip to Donegal on Ireland’s North Coast. I wanted to share a range of images from our various instructors, so most of what you see from Lofoten will be by Daragh and Dino. Both made their maiden voyages this year, and the Arctic didn’t disappoint. Dino was perhaps a little cold at times, but what to say; the man is Italian, it’s to be expected. I think it’s fair to say though, his imagery is pretty damn hot. He really stepped up to help when Thor had to pull out last minute. My Viking comrade was sadly missed but delighted Thor was back on the road soon after and we managed to shoot Senja together again in the Autumn.

Enough talking. First up Dino magic from Lofoten ..

There is no question Dino brings the epic beauty, but how about a soft touch too? Lofoten is such a stunning place it really works for all styles of photography. Next up the first one is mine and the rest are Daragh’s. All Lofoten.

We overlapped with Daragh for just a moment in Lofoten but the Muldowney fella’s trip to Lofoten happened simultaneously with our trip to Senja. After slinging some crampons at Daragh while in transit to Leknes airport, Dino and I jumped on a wee plane and headed for Tromso. After a couple of days break, we were on the road again for some stunning Arctic photography. Im sorry Dino, but I just couldn’t resist including the ski goggles picture. Dino is a top man and we had a lot of good laughs in between the workshops.

Ok break over. Off the beer and back on the road. Again I do feel that Senja offers some amazing possibilities for minimalism and epic beauty. Im going to lead with my effort and then jump over to some stunning work by Dino ..

Now over to Dino and more Senja goodness ..

Our Arctic adventures in 2024 were quite amazing. Some stunning light and landscape with some great people and a lot of laughs. The pictures dont stop there though for this instalment. Finishing off part 1 with an epic trip to Donegal on Ireland’s north coast ..
